Despite the brothers' efforts to be on their best behavior, they are drawn into a brawl by the men from town. She also instructs them in the etiquette of courting women, and after a month, they all attend a barn-raising dance. The following morning, Milly begins the task of civilizing the brothers, forcing them to submit to underwear-laundering and a shave before giving them breakfast. Milly banishes Adam from the bedroom, then relents, confessing that she loved him at first sight. That night, however, the brothers' appalling table manners infuriate Milly, and she reproachfully tells Adam that he wanted a servant, not a wife. When they reach the farm, Milly is stunned at the sight of all the rough-and-tumble Pontipee brothers, but she promptly sets about putting their back-woods home in order. Novita 7 Brothers is manufactured at our own spinnery in Koria. More colours were introduced later on, and currently 7 Brothers is available in tens of different colours. The single-coloured original yarns in their shades of off-white, beige and grey were a massive hit from the start. Published in 1873, it is generally considered the first actual novel published in Finnish, and Kivi is celebrated as Finland’s national author.Īnd just like Kivi’s novel, the 7 Brothers yarns managed to tap into something fundamentally Finnish. Seven Brothers is a novel by Finnish author Aleksis Kivi. But there’s more than just the number of yarns to it. The original 7 Brothers range featured seven different colourways, hence the name. The products development team took notice, and a true yarn classic, Novita 7 Brothers, was born. Working as a sales rep for Helsingin Villakehräämö, Novita’s predecessor, he had been getting repeated requests from customers all over Finland: People wanted a thicker sock yarn in addition to Novita Nalle, that had been around for some years. Little did Gunnar Mannerström know what his feedback would set about.
